No Forced Returns! Defend Kurdish and Afghani Refugees!

Public meeting Monday, 23 June, 7 - 9pm

Committee Room11
Houses of Parliament
London SW1 1AA

Hosted and chaired by Jeremy Corbyn MP

Speakers include
Liz Fekete (Institute of Race Relations)
Kerim Yildiz (Kurdish Human Rights Project)
Nick Hildyard (ISD Refugee Project and The Cornerhouse)
Sarah Parker (Ay Family Campaign)
Fazil Kawani (Refugee Council, Asylum Rights Campaign)
Sami Aziz (Afghan Refugee Support Committee)
Jean Lambert MEP (Green Party)
George Binette (Committee to Defend Asylum Seekers)

Speakers will focus on the human rights, economic and environmental problems facing people in Iraq, Turkey and
Afghanistan; at the process of criminalising refugees at a European level in order to build Fortress Europe; and at the targeting of refugees such as the Kurds and Afghans for return to these places.

We hope to use the meeting to raise awareness of the post-war situations in these countries, to exchange information and ideas, to help build the campaigns for refugee rights and against forced
return, and to promote solidarity with the peoples of the occupied and dominated countries. All welcome.

The meeting is called by Ilisu Dam Campaign-Refugee Project, Kurdish Refugee Support Committee and Peace in Kurdistan Campaign

NOTE: IDC Refugee Project is an initiative set up to build links between refugee communities and environmental, civil rights, anti-globalisation campaigners and other interested organizations and individuals, to understand each others concerns better and strengthen separate and joint campaigns
